Do you have a dedicated studio/artistic space? Yes.
Where is it located? between my kitchen and breakfast room and adjacent to my loungeroom..
Is it a large or small space? Comfortable..though my easel takes up half the space !!
What medium(s) do you work in? big canvases...oil...acrylic...goauche and graphite
Do you have a separate area for each? No ...my computer desk doubles as my table for my paints...that's when it can get pretty messy...eek !!
What one word would you use to describe your studio? different?
What do you think is the best feature of your studio? my easel and my computer and the special daylight lighting for when the weather is dull...
What would you change if you could? nothing really..
Can you share an organisational tip? always work with a drop sheet...oil paint and carpet don't mix ..
Describe the usual state of your work table? pretty tidy most days...although it can get out of hand if I'm painting continuously..
Does your work table face out into the room or toward the wall? see pic
What’s one drawback of your studio/artistic space? the floor...thank goodness I'm not a messy painter..
Do you have an idea wall or inspiration board? no everything is in my head or on my computer...
Do you listen to music in your studio? Yes....yes..yes...

What’s one quirk or unusual feature of your studio? my back scratcher (an old salad server)...frozen shoulder and all that!!

Nice work place. I like the fact that it has a very comfy, "lived-in" feel to it. But doesn't the location beside the kitchen cause any concern when it comes to cooking and all that, like the paint fumes and stuff?

no the fumes aren't a problem as one long wall is entirely glass doors which can be opened up and the kitchen has an exhaust fan as well :)

Hi Kim, Beautiful place you have and studio...Was so touching to see my work. I just got back from Montreal. I was helping my sister work. I came home to a very sad hubby. Our computer crashed and we lost almost everything. He had been working on his mba dissertation for over a week and lost it all. Now I am on the new computer with Vista and I hate the thing. Major stress balls over here! LOL. I also wanted to stay congrats to your niece on her award. Her painting is just great! She is talented like her wonderful auntie! Take care mate, xoxoxo Lisa
